Let’s talk about a few things I think you should know especially if you love Korean skincare, customized routines for skin of color, and supporting small businesses.
🧾 New Tariffs Are Coming: What does that Mean for Your K-Skincare Routine?
Starting at the end of this month, new U.S. tariffs will be placed on a wide range of imported goods, including skincare products, packaging, and ingredients. It’s already impacting how indie brands like mine plan our restocks, pricing, and vendor relationships.
I want to be upfront with you:
This means some prices will goup across the industry, including the bigger retailers.
So while I can’t control policy, I can make sure:
You're informed
You still get value
You never feel surprised at checkout
What this means for customers:
The De Minimis rule used to let products under $800 into the U.S. without extra duties/taxes. That rule has been abolished and now duties apply to all imports, even small orders.
1. Express Shipping
Carrier change: from FedEx to ACI Express (19.99USD)
Lead time: 6–10 business days
Japan & Korea shipping rates remain the same.
2. K-Packet Shipping (9.99)
Temporarily suspended while discussions between Korea Post and USPS are in discussion.
3. Pricing Policy
While many platforms and stores have raised prices by 15–30% following the De Minimis repeal, my supplier will keep their income
4. Duties & Taxes Coverage
Our supplier may cover duties and taxes for most orders up to $100 dollars. They will not be able to cover duties and taxes for orders exceeding that so you may need to make multiple orders to avoid paying additional duties and taxes.
Basically: Product pricing remains the same, shipping times are faster, but only express flat rate shipping [19.99] is available.
Sooooo….
If you use a product daily or love it, now’s the time to stock up before changes roll out. These changes start August 22, 2025 KST.
